OUR STORY
Empowering Young African
The Great African Foundation was born from a simple yet powerful vision: to empower young Africans to become the architects of a prosperous continent. This vision is the lifeblood of our founder and CEO, Derick Joseph Ambrose.
Derick's journey began at Tengeru Boys Secondary School, where he witnessed firsthand the immense potential young people hold to create positive change within their communities. He saw a need to ignite this potential and provide a platform for young minds to flourish.
Fueled by this passion, Derick embarked on a mission to empower his fellow students. He established the Charity Club, providing a platform for youth to engage in community service. He also revived dormant clubs like the Environment Club and the Anti-Corruption Club, recognizing the importance of environmental stewardship and ethical leadership.
Powerful Agents of Positive Change
These initiatives weren't confined to the school walls. Derick and his fellow club members undertook projects that rippled outwards, touching the lives of those in the surrounding community. Their efforts demonstrated a crucial truth: when young people are empowered and given direction, they can become powerful agents of positive change.
Derick's experiences underscored a critical need: a dedicated organization that extended beyond the school environment. This realization led to the establishment of The Great African Foundation. Our foundation carries the torch forward, aiming to equip young Africans across the continent with the tools and resources they need to discover their purpose and contribute to building a thriving Africa.
We believe that an empowered youth population is the cornerstone of a brighter future for Africa. By investing in their potential, we invest in the continent's collective progress.
